Back to the 70's!!

  Hace cosa de unos cinco años se presentaba al mundo un grupo de adolescentes desde la ciudad de Sheffield haciéndose llamar Arctic Monkeys, una banda que alcanzo un éxito meteórico, como pocos grupos lo llegan a ver. De la misma forma se convertían en uno de los mayores embajadores de la música post-punk británica y con una estética tan marcada que a nadie le dejaría en duda que este cuarteto procedía de una de las islas más lluviosas de Europa. Hace unas semanas nos presentaban el adelanto de su nuevo trabajo llamado “Suck it and see” un nuevo trabajo que verá la luz al mercado el próximo 6 de junio y que sus adelantos han levantado revuelo y distintas opiniones y no es para menos, el más puro estilo british esta vez da un giro de 180º y salta el charco para adentrarse en los EEUU de los ’70 sonidos muy guitarreros que evocan toda una época y así mismo también dan un cambio a su estética, barbas, melenas y una indumentaria que en su momento rompió moldes y ellos le vuelven a dar vida. 

Ejemplo de ello es este su primer single llamado “Brick By Brick”.

In the same way became one of the greatest ambassadors for the British post-punk music and with aesthetics so strong that nobody would doubt that this quartet came from one of the wettest islands in Europe.

A few weeks ago we had the preview of his new album called "Suck it and see" a new work that will come to market on June 6 and its advances have raised a stir and different opinions and no wonder, the strongest British style this time gives a 180 degree turn and jump to the another side of the world to enter in the U.S.A. from the '70s guitar sounds evoking an era and likewise also give a change to its aesthetic, beards, hairs and clothing that once broke the rules and they will return to give life.

Pero no es casual el hecho de que Arctic Monkeys se hayan introducido en los ’70 ya que en el mundo de la pasarela el look setentero también esta de vuelta para esta primavera, pantalones campana e incluso pata de elefante, siluetas sinuosas, blusas vaporosas, vivos estampados, pamelas… tal vez se este evocando ese espíritu en el que la juventud empezaba a tomar fuerza ante todo lo que estaba sucediendo a su alrededor.

But it is no coincidence that Arctic Monkeys have been made in the '70s because the world of the catwalk the seventies look is also back for this Spring, flares and even elephant foot, sinuous silhouettes, light blouses, strong patterns, sun huts ... perhaps this evoking the spirit in which the youth began to take hold at everything that was happening around them.

Como antes comentaba el nuevo disco de Arctic Monkeys ha levantado mucho revuelo por este “cambio”, yo no soy critica musical ni una gran entendida en la materia pero desde mi punto de vista me parece estupendo que un grupo se lance a por nuevos sonidos, que experimente, que descubra y se recicle, por supuesto un grupo, marca o cualquier tipo de “etiqueta” necesita de un estilo propio y un algo, una esencia que les diferencie de los demás pero también es bueno seguir experimentando, descubriendo… tal vez de ahí nazca algo mejor para deleite de uno mismo y del resto.

As previously commented the new Arctic Monkeys album has raised much excitement for this "change", I'm not a music critic and even a great understanding in this area but from my point of view I think it's great that a group is set to by new sounds, to experiment, discover and recycled, of course a group, mark or any kind of "label" need of a personal style an essence that differentiates them from others but it is good to continue experimenting, discovering ...

Maybe from there will come out something better to the delight of oneself and everyone else.
